Can I extend my stay in the U.S. as a B Visa Holder?
If you need to prolong your stay, you can apply for a B-1/B-2 visa extension, but your stay in the United States is limited to one year. So, if you’re given a six-month period, you can only extend it for another six months. However, you must provide a compelling reason for the extension. You must be able to demonstrate a ‘need’ to stay longer.
What kind of Visa is a B-2?
B-2 visitor visas are nonimmigrant visas that allow people to temporarily visit the United States for pleasure or tourism.

a travel itinerary,
criminal records in case you have been arrested,
a letter from your employer stating your salary,
employment period and position.
The B-1 visa processing times are not exact.
The processing of your visa can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months.
This is contingent on the US Embassy’s workload and other variables that they examine.
You will be told whether or not you get the visa after the processing time has passed.
