In order to be eligible for the Tourist Visa, besides all the required documents you need to bring in for the interview you must:
prove that the purpose of your trip is to travel around the U.S.,
prove that you are a permanent resident in your home country,
prove that you will not leave your home country to be an illegal immigrant in the U.S.
and show that you have ties to your home country such as family, property, a permanent job, etc.
When can’t I use the VWP (ESTA) and need a Visa?
There are a few reasons why you can’t use the VWP and need to apply for the B-2 Visa instead.
Those reason can be:
you traveled to Iran, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Sudan, Yemen and Somalia after March 1, 2011;
you have dual nationality in one of the countries mentioned above; you’ve been denied entry in the U.S. before, you are not a citizen of the countries in the VWP list and you overstayed your last Visa.
Can I book a Visa Appointment without submitting the DS-160?
You can book an appointment with a U.S. Consulate or Embassy before submitting the DS-160 Form, but without the verification code you will not get your Visa issued when you submit all the required documents in the interview.
Therefore, we suggest you fill the DS-160 Form as soon as possible!
