The United States is a wonderfully diverse country that provides numerous opportunities for family members to visit each other, business partners to negotiate contracts, athletes to compete in various competitions, entertainers to perform, tourists to visit the country, and even individuals in need of medical treatment to receive proper care.
It comes as no surprise that there are a large number of B Visa applicants each year, and the number is growing!
What are the B-1 and B-2 Visas?
The B-1 and B-2 visa are non-immigrant visas that allow its holders to visit the United States for business or pleasure.
Except for student travel, which is covered by F-1 visas, B visas cover almost every reason for temporary travel.
The B-1 visa is specifically for business travel, whereas the B-2 visa is for tourism, such as vacations or family visits.

In recent years many Temporary Visitor for Business and Pleasure (B-1/B-2) Visas have been issued! Less and less people were applying for these visas but at the end of it all because of the current situation among us the number of applicants went down a lot.
How to apply for the B-1/B-2 Visitor Visa?
First you will need to complete the Online Non-Immigrant Application (DS-160) and print the confirmation page because you need it for the interview at the embassy/consulate.
You need to upload a digital photo, pay the visa fees and schedule then attend an interview at the closest U.S. Embassy in your home country!
What are the required documents for the B-1 Visa?
You must provide the commonly required documents for the business visa application with you to support your application.
Your B1 visa application should have the following:
your valid passport,
details of your social media accounts,
The Form DS-160 confirmation page and code,
a photo that complies with the US Visa photo requirements,
ties to your home country such as family,
job contract,
lease,
or property deed,
which prove you will return,
criminal records or letters from authorities stating that you do not have prior convictions,
a letter which describes the purpose of your trip,
financial or bank statements to prove you have the finances to stay in the US. It is also important to bring if you have visited the US before, the documents relevant to your prior visits. If you work, bring a letter from your employer and paycheck for the last three months, a letter from the company detailing the purpose of the trip and your job position is also a must.
If your permitted stay in the United States is about to expire, you may want to extend it, especially since staying in the United States for longer than you were allowed can have long-term effects. If you have a B-1/B-2 visa, you can request a one-year extension of your stay. To do so, fill out Form I-539, Request to Extend or Change Status. It’s best if you request for an extension of your status at least 45 days before your approved stay expires, so be careful and plan ahead!
Can I book a Visitor Visa appointment without submitting DS 160?
Yes, you can schedule an appointment before submitting the DS 160.
Most applicants prefer to do it that way to save time and complete the procedure in parallel as they wait for the real interview date.
How many times can I enter the United States on a B-1/B-2 Visa?
Fortunately, a B-Visa is a multiple entry visa, which means you are allowed to enter the United States more than once.
There is no limit on entering the U.S. just make sure it is during the 180 days after you receive the Visa!
